The second session of the Reading Club promoted by the Architects’ Association of Catalonia’s future SeniorA Group at La Capell, will be on the book ‘Ten lessons about Barcelona’, by Manuel de Solà-Morales.
The event will have the participation of Eulàlia Gómez-Escoda, associate professor of the Department of Urbanism and Territorial Planning of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia; and Albert de Pablo Ponte, director of Interlands, City and Territory SL, who works on topics of Urban Planning, Landscape and Environment.
Manuel de Solà-Morales i Rubió (1939-2012), architect and urban planner, especially dedicated to urban design, was a master in urban planning understood as an intellectual and creative activity, committed to the improvement of cities through which he called “an insistent search”. Professor of Urbanism at the Barcelona School of Architecture, he was founder and director of the Barcelona Urbanism Laboratory – a research group on urban morphology – as from 1968.
‘Ten lessons about Barcelona’ can be found at La Capell bookstore and at the COAC. Library.
The books that will be brought to the Senior Group’s Reading Club will try to bring up for debate those titles that have been influential in our cultural environment but that for many reasons have been forgotten or even banned.
