The doctoral thesis on the old psychiatric hospital modernist complex in Sant Boi de Llobregat shows that this was a space for architectural experimentation that foresaw works such as the Milà House, the Güell crypt, the Sagrada Família and the Park Güell. Full of symbolism linked to the text of the Apocalypse of Saint John and dedicated to the Virgin of Lourdes, this work would also be in tune with the mental and spiritual universe of Antoni Gaudí.

Xavier Agulló, PhD in Architecture from the ETSAB (UPC), talks about this unpublished work by Antoni Gaudí, which would articulate the formal and conceptual change that led the renowned architect to carry out his last great works.

Soon, and within the conference’s framework, a visit will be made to the aforementioned gardens, organised by the Baix Llobregat’s territorial group of architects of the COAC’s Barcelona demarcation (more information shortly).
