As part of the LOOP BARCELONA videoart festival, LOOP and the Open Architecture Centre work together to present the video project on the Walden building, “Walden 7 or life in the cities”, by the visual artist Domènec.
The video project traces, through interviews, archival and contemporary images, the round trip of the initial Walden 7 project by the Taller d’Arquitectura led by Ricardo Bofill, a proposal for radical architecture and a great social housing building on the outskirts of Barcelona, until the present day of the building.
Domènec (Mataró, 1962) has built a sculptural and photographic work, together with installations and interventions in public spaces, which takes the architectural project as one of the most productive and complex imaginary constructions of modernity. He has participated in several in situ projects and international public art projects in Ireland, Mexico, Belgium, France, Italy, USA, Brazil, Argentina, Finland, Slovenia, Japan, India, Philippines, Israel and Palestine.
