The water of Life
More info

Through a combination of words and photographs, this publication unveils the secrets of the landscape surrounding uisge beatha, known as the water of life, which has been distilled in Scotland for centuries.

The book is the result of a series of journeys that the authors undertook between 2015 and 2022 through the whisky-producing regions of Scotland. They explored the serene meadows and urban environments of the Lowlands, the majestic valleys of the Highlands, the area influenced by the River Spey, the picturesque peninsula of Campbeltown, as well as the diverse islands and Islay, famous for their peaty malts.

During their visits to local distilleries, the authors had the opportunity to closely observe the entire whisky-making process, exploring its close relationship with the geography and natural environment of each region.
