The industrialisation process has often been explained by emphasising the architecture and machinery of the productive processes, but this work broadens the focus on the industrial heritage with new areas of interest: the gardens. In the industrial complexes on the banks of the Ter river, we discover, apart from locks, canals, factories, workers’ housing blocks and bourgeois residences, an important set of gardens and urban greenery.
Through the paintings of Manel Vicente, an agronomist with a master’s in landscaping, we will discover the characteristics of common environments in our territory.
On the occasion of the inauguration, we will be joined by Mr. Carles García, director of the Ter Museum; the architect and curator of the exhibition, Mr. Antoni Companys; and the author of the works, Mr. Manuel Vicente.
