As part of the H Art & Books presentation series organized by H Association for Contemporary Arts and Foster & Wallace Bookstore, with the collaboration of the Central Counties Branch of the College of Architects and the 3e1 Vic Clic Association, on Tuesday, November 11 at 7:00 p.m., the presentation of the monograph dedicated to architect Emili Donato Folch will take place in the assembly hall of COAC Vic.
The event will feature Francesc Pernas, Jordi Roig, and Miquel Jiménez, who will talk with Donato about his professional, cultural, and artistic career.
His work stands out for a free, coherent, and personal vision, far from the usual circuits. In addition to architecture, Donato has pursued drawing, photography, and painting, disciplines that are also included in this 384-page monograph, which includes:
- A selection of 20 outstanding projects and 26 complementary files
- Travel drawings, photographs, and paintings created by the author
- Reflections and writings published in various national and international media
This publication offers an overview of the work of one of the most active Catalan architects of the second half of the 20th century.
Born in Figueres in 1934, Emili Donato graduated as an architect in 1960. After a brief period in Ibiza, he established his studio in Barcelona, where he has developed an intense professional, political, and cultural activity. He earned his doctorate in 1971 and has been a professor and director of final degree projects at both architecture schools of the UPC. He has also served as cultural officer of the COAC and of the Balearic Islands, and directed the magazine Quaderns in the late 1960s and early 1970s
