Second session of the MARQ 2022/2023 cycle – Master’s Degree in Architecture, with the conference ‘Projecting places through time’, by the architect Daria de Seta.
Daria de Seta
Architect and PhD in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano, Daria de Seta has always carried out the practice of the project in parallel with an intense theoretical-critical activity. Her work as a curator of architecture and photography exhibitions, her collaboration with various art and architecture magazines, and above all her academic activity, nurture and integrate the practical research of the profession.
After having been a professor of projects in Geneva (HEAD-HEPIA), from 2009 to 2014, she is currently a professor of projects and Area Head of "Space Design" at Elisava (Barcelona). She also participates regularly in several European universities as a guest professor.
Founding partner of the Garcés-de-Seta-Bonet architecture studio since 2011, she has promoted the international opening of the firm: projects such as the Palace of Justice in Strasbourg (Gest d'Or Award 2018, Équerre Award finalist silver 2017), the Talbot Wallys House, the Residences complex in Tours, the Cité Administrative de Briançon (France), the Marine Station and the Stage Designs for the Greek Theater of Syracuse, the New Coast of the city of Portici (Italy) and the headquarters of the City Council with Archeolab in the former Site du Prieuré (Switzerland), are a testimony to the intense activity abroad in recent years and are added to other closer projects such as the extension of the Picasso Museum, the workshop for the painter Arranz Bravo and the Three Metro Stations of Line 9 in Barcelona (finalist RIBA International Prize 2018, XVI Ceramic Prize 2018, FAD Interiorisme Prize 2016 and FAD Opinió Interiorisme Prize 2016, Biennale di Venezia 2014).
