The presentation of the book ‘Gardener/Architects of Barcelona, 1888-1992’ will feature the participation of Marc Aureli Santos, Montse Rivero, Eva Jiménez, Xavi Llobet and Ariadna Alvarez Garreta.
This book aims to be mirrored in The Lives of Giorgio Vasari and The Men of Josep Pla, in such a way that through the literary portrait of eight gardener/architects who have defined the green urban parts of Barcelona and through an aesthetic approach to its parks and gardens we can discover and draw a tradition of gardening in the city.
Following the footsteps of these eight characters, this book reveals a craft inherited and passed down from generation to generation of gardener/architects. A legacy started with the great Barcelona and the culture of masses, Sunday rest and the construction of the Eixample, which makes us discover new facets of ourselves and our common project: Barcelona.
