"In a conference given in April 1950, Mies van der Rohe praised technology, asserting that its culmination transforms it into architecture, and expressing his hope that, someday, the former would be the expression of the latter. Unfortunately, this aspiration has been realized on very few occasions, as the trend has been that architecture and engineering have been more disassociated than associated. Manifestly transversal visions have generally been more of an exception than the rule. Furthermore, any approach to technology that forgets its origins in the principles of science will hardly reach its full potential. This text aims to contribute to filling this gap."
