People walk for different reasons, whether it’s to go to work, attend a meeting, get away from something, or simply for pleasure. You can either walk or ride a bike, but either way, you are ‘making way’.
This exhibition is not what is known as ‘artistic photography’, but rather what is called ‘street photography’, achieved with patience and worn-out shoes. The author presents us with a collection from a vast archive of photographs taken over the years, with a common theme: people ‘making way’. You can find anything from an ordinary individual heading to work but passing through a special environment, to a peculiar person in a setting that doesn’t attract attention for any particular reason.
Although we’ve said it’s not an exhibition of artistic photography, it’s not devoid of a certain aesthetic work, where various techniques have been used. Coupled with the format of the photographs and their presentation, it makes this exhibition deserving of us taking a pause in our path to visit.
Always carry your camera ready, you never know what will arise.
Eduard Aragonès.
