Joan Ganyet publishes his latest book ‘Scherzo d’Itàlia’, an experimental exercise to determine whether present-day Italians retain the creativity of the Renaissance period. The work gathers some of the most relevant artists and compares them with contemporary creativity, expressed on the walls of various Italian cities.
The book consists of around eighty photographs, articles about Renaissance artists, and contributions from Anna Martí, Valeria Conte, Giorgio Negri, and Juan Cal. The work establishes a connection between the Renaissance and the current context.
‘Scherzo d’Itàlia’ completes the trilogy of photography books that began with Pell and continued with Tolstoi Traces. However, Ganyet, who believes one should never stand still, explains that he has already traveled to La Rioja and the Basque Country and has new material that will see the light in the future.
We will have the presence of the author and the Honorable Counselor Joaquim Nadal, the artist Perico Pastor and the photographer Giorgio Negri.
