During November, the Library of the Barcelona headquarters received the latest issues of different magazines to which the institution is subscribed. These are characterised by including collections of works and projects by contemporary architects or their studios, making it possible to discover new architects and their visions.

The magazines chosen are benchmarks when it comes to exhibiting and examining architectural works based on high-quality photographic samples, as well as detailed plans, sections and elevations.

Among the wide variety of publications received, the following stand out:

Croquis 217 (2022 I) – Arrhov Frick, 2015-2022: cambio de paradigma = paradigm shift
Available at the headquarters in Barcelona, Girona and Tarragona.
Show of 17 works by the Swedish firm Arrhov Frick, set up by three partners: Johan Arrhov, Henrik Frick and Carlos Nieto Cid. Following a work ethic based on research, the studio seeks to create sustainable, long-lasting, easy-to-build works. The collection focuses on the exhibition of houses and blocks of flats.

Croquis 217 (2022 II) – Groupwork, 2012-2022: cambio de paradigma = paradigm shift
Available at the headquarters in Barcelona, Girona and Tarragona.
Exhibition of houses, offices and commercial buildings designed by the Groupwork team in London. The firm has repeatedly been awarded the RIBA Regional + National Awards and was nominated twice in 2019 for the EU Mies Awards. They stand out for quality and
detailed designs.

A+U: Architecture and Urbanism 624 – Grafton Architects.
Available at the headquarters in Barcelona, Lleida and Tarragona.
Collection of 25 projects by the firm Grafton Architects, founded in Dublin in 1978 by Yvonne Farrell and Sheley McNamara. The compilation of works focuses on university buildings and large public buildings. However, the initial residential works of the team, carried out at the beginning of the century, are also briefly shown.

AV Monographs 247 – Snøhetta: recent works.
Available at the headquarters in Barcelona and Girona.
The present issue of AV focuses on the sample of 21 cultural public buildings and large offices, carried out by the renowned Norwegian studio Snøhetta in 2016 and 2022. Among the projects, made around the world, we find relevant works, such as the Le Monde group headquarters (Paris) or the underwater restaurant ‘Under’ (Norway).

TC 157 – Macías Peredo, Architecture 2012-2022.

Available at the headquarters in Barcelona and Ebre.
Estudio Macías Peredo, founded by the Mexicans Salvador Macías, Magui Peredo, and Diego Quirarte. Both Macías and Peredo studied architecture in Guadalajara (Mexico) and were professors at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. The studio is characterised by a domestic architecture that reflects its origins in Guadalajara and its history. As Manuel Cervantes points out “the duality between local and global is essential to understand their work”.

We encourage you to check each of these novelties in person at the different headquarters of the COAC’s Library during the new opening hours.
