Monuments are no longer the only main characters of the concept of heritage, and this is increasingly reflected in how regulatory provisions address the issue, opening up to areas and practices which were unthinkable when the first cataloging tools were formed.
Communication offers a review of the main theories on heritage, from the 16th century to the present day, and explores current trends by opening perspectives on our territories.
Alessandro Scarnato
Is an architect from the University of Florence and a doctor from the UPC in Barcelona. He is a professor of Architectural History at the ETSAB and a member of the AADIPA for Barcelona. Along with teaching and research, he develops his professional activity in the field of reform and restoration.
