Exhibition of paintings by Albert Colomer, architect.
Just as an infusion passes through the paper leaving aside the plant that created the aroma, the paint is deposited on a transparent paper, forgetting who paints to become; the painting, on its own, an autonomous object, which with its own viscosity, capillarity and unctuousness, decide the way you want to look at them.
While painting papers, paint is deposited on a delicate substrate, in this case a paper of 16.5 grams per square metre, filter paper for tea bags (abacus paper and cellulose).
Exposure is a symbiotic relationship between paper and paint, the weak paper that needs the strength of the paint to not tear, and the viscous paint that cannot expand if it does not have a support that keeps it company while it dries.
Whoever paints just looks.
Albert Colomer
Born in Vic in 1969, he began his official musical studies at a very young age. He finished his degree in Architecture at the age of 23 at the ETSAB, founded a minimalist music group with traditional Catalan roots and later obtained a degree in painting at the Vic School of Art.
His architectural studio (Colomer-Aceves Arquitectes) has designed teaching facilities, sanitary facilities, offices and residential buildings, town halls and heritage architecture renovations. He has been a Member of Culture of the College of Architects of Catalonia’s Osona Delegation from 1995 to 2007.
In 2016 he won the 8th edition of the I + T Ceramics and Pottery Competition “Memorial Joan Capdevila” with the design of a ceramic lattice, a work that is also a finalist in the EARTVIC Awards 2016. In 2016 he exhibited the PFC painting in the ARTVIC and later at the Museum of Leather Art.
His painting is characterised by spontaneity in the outline. The sincerity of the plot and the expansion are recurring in his paintings, which is why over time they have grown in size and intensity.
He has participated in several group exhibitions. In 2020 he received his first pictorial commission with the realisation of five medium-sized pieces as a tribute to five great Catalan architects, for the association of Architects for Architecture.
