The 3rd edition of the Barcelona Architecture Show exhibition continues its journey through the different libraries of the Barcelona Council, this time in the mezzanine of the Plaça Nova.
This exhibition is the result of a competition called in 2021 by the Barcelona region, and it presents the different works and projects presented in the “Catalan architecture exhibitions” program in a playful and flexible way. In this case, it is the 3rd Barcelona edition, where the works are reproduced in a series of panels that are located in the different modules that make up the exhibition, inviting the visitor to interact with them and to discover the material on display.
This material is located in different wooden modules: a combination of boxes and filing cabinets that allow different levels of exposure of the contents. It also allows the construction of a narrative thread in the staging of the system, which changes according to the space where it is located, thus adopting different groupings. Special consideration is given to the accessibility criteria provided, which are considered from a broad perspective.
The exhibition, designed by Salvestudio, a team formed by Jordi Quetglas and Mireia Costa, is quick and easy to assemble while minimising packaging materials, with the display module itself being the container for the exhibit. Produced under the direction of Salvestudio at the Estudi Ferran Sendra carpentry in Cornellà de Llobregat, led by the architect Ariadna Sendra, the aim was also to highlight the added value and business innovation of the industry that is committed to architects.
The exhibition, therefore, begins its journey through libraries, institutes and civic centres in Montbau, and depending on the location, it will include projects from the different calls for Catalan Architecture Exhibitions in the Barcelona region. The works presented in the 8th Vallès edition and the 6th Maresme edition will also be shown shortly.
